On the afternoon of April 11, Ari Koski, Vice President of Turku University, and Jia Huilan, President of Finn-Sino Culture, Education & Technology Exchange Association, visited our university. Zhu Xinyuan, President of USST, met with the guests, accompanied by the Office of International Affairs Office, School of Optoelectronic Information and Computer Engineering and School of Health Science and Engineering.
Zhu Xinyuan, on behalf of USST, warmly welcomed the vice president of Turku University and his delegation, and introduced USST's development history, academic characteristics, talent cultivation and international exchanges. He pointed out that in recent years, USST has been actively promoting high-level overseas exchanges and cooperation, and is committed to realizing mutual benefits and win-win situation in scientific research cooperation, talent cultivation, humanities exchange and other levels. Finnish universities have always been one of the important educational partners of USST, and both sides have carried out many fruitful cooperation programs. The visit of the University of Turku and the Finn-Sino Culture, Education & Technology Exchange Association has built a bridge of exchange and mutual understanding between the two universities. The two universities have a high degree of compatibility in the fields of information and communication, health and biology, etc. In the future, they can give full play to their respective advantages, gradually establish friendly cooperative relations, strengthen educational and cultural exchanges, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the internationalization of the two universities.
Mr. Ali Koski expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of USST and introduced the basic situation, academic characteristics and philosophy of the University of Turku. He pointed out that Finnish education is centered on practice-oriented, industry-academic integration and lifelong learning. He expressed his strong desire to establish a friendly cooperative relationship with USST, welcomed the teachers and students of USST to visit the University of Turku in Finland, and expected that the two universities could take the student exchange program as a starting point to establish inter-university cooperation, and ultimately realize win-win cooperation.
Jia Huilan introduced the relevant situation of Finn-Sino Culture, Education & Technology Exchange Association. She pointed out that Finland and China have been cooperating under the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative, and the people of the two countries are traditionally friendly with each other, and the humanistic exchanges are getting closer and closer. Over the years, the Association has been committed to strengthening cultural, educational, scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between China and Finland by building cooperation platforms and information exchange channels. She hoped that the two universities could cooperate in curriculum co-construction, teacher and student exchanges, talent cultivation, etc., to promote the sharing of high-quality educational resources and cross-cultural academic exchanges.
During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on faculty and student exchanges, joint cultivation, faculty and student community programs, joint declaration of international events, etc., and reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation.
